On August 11, an Arizona Department of Public Safety Canine District trooper conducted a traffic stop on a Ford F-350 towing a utility trailer on I-8 near Yuma. During the stop, the trooper noticed several indicators of criminal activity.
A search of the truck and trailer turned up something unusual: the trailer's frame rails were filled with an unknown liquid. Hazmat personnel responded, and preliminary testing came back positive for methamphetamine. The truck and trailer were moved to a secure location, where investigators drained a total of 106 gallons of liquid methamphetamine out of the trailer frame.
